New Development Centre in Sibiu
October 2011
iQuest has opened its third Romanian development centre in Sibiu, on 13 October 2011. The new team there will work closely with both development centres in Cluj and Brasov to complement the existing services and activities. The Sibiu location, with its 650 square metres raises the total surface of iQuest offices in Romania to over 4,000 square metres.
‘The decision to open the new development centre was taken because of the high level of skill of the IT specialists from Sibiu as well as the presence of several computer science faculties. The fact that the location is geographically close to our other centres and the European culture of the people here were also important arguments’, said Cornelius Brody, iQuest CEO, at the inauguration ceremony.
He concluded by saying that ’iQuest has registered an organic growth in the number of employees, of around 20-25% annually. We don’t have certain quantity targets, we just want to add valuable people to our team, alongside whom we can continue our development.’ The company currently has over 400 employees and there are open positions for young graduates as well as experienced specialists.
Opening the new centre also means iQuest’s active involvement in the professional development of people from Sibiu interested in IT. The Mobile in the Cloud event is just one example of such an action, meant to showcase company specialists and young people willing to develop a career in this field.
We are proud that the iQuest University for technologies will be extended to thenew location as well. In order to successfully launch these types of actions, the company will rely, just like for other cities it is present in, on the collaboration with universities and student organisations.
